  1. “My Lovely Leo” lyrics (By Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin from People Before Profit – Rathdown, running in General Elections 2020)

Oh when I first met my Leo he knocked on my door,

My mate let him in and he stood on the floor,

Says I am lovely Leo the stuff of folklore,

come to see if you’re up in the morning.

He stood in my room and he asked me the time,

Before I could answer, he says it’s half nine,

And what are you doing in bed all so fine?

why don’t you get up in the morning?

Oh my lovely Leo, he wears a blue shirt,

He was destined for greatness the day of his birth,

if you ask him nicely he’ll tell you what you’re worth,

Just a kick up the arse in the morning

I says to him Leo, I’m so glad you are here,

I’ve a dose of the blues and I’m filled up with fear,

If I don’t see a doctor the end might be near,

So I cannot get up in the morning.

He says my young man, this blue heart you won’t melt,

For nary a feeling have I ever felt,

And I’m cutting and cutting the oul mental health

So you’ll have to get up in the morning.

Oh my lovely Leo, he wears a blue shirt,

He was destined for greatness the day of his birth,

if you ask him nicely he’ll tell you what you’re worth,

Just a kick up the arse in the morning

But Leo, me Leo, I can’t pay me rent

For taimse in arrears and my money's all spent

The landlord, has taken me for every cent

I'll be out in a couple of mornings

He says stop all your moaning or haven't you read,

If you can’t pay your rent then your lease it is dead,

At least if you're evicted you'll get out of bed,

You’ll be raring to go in the morning.

Oh my lovely Leo, he wears a blue shirt,

He was destined for greatness the day of his birth,

if you ask him nicely he’ll tell you what you’re worth,

Just a kick up the arse in the morning

But Leo, me Leo, I have a young child,

She’s only in school and I have to provide,

What can she do with no place to reside,

If she’s out on the streets in the morning.

Why don’t you send her to an oul boarding school,

Oh 10 grand a year and she’ll turn out no fool

She’ll have bedding and boarding and learn how to rule,

How to get the plebs up in the morning.

Oh my lovely Leo, he wears a blue shirt,

He was destined for greatness the day of his birth,

if you ask him nicely he’ll tell you what you’re worth,

Just a kick up the arse in the morning

I says Leo, me Leo, what cloud are you on,

Were you smoking oul dubies in the sun for too long

To your class of rich cronies I do not belong

With ten grand I’d be grand in the morning.

But c’mere to me Leo I told you a lie,

I was out all last night, I was high as a kite,

And I’m sick of your snivelling sly feckin’ shite,

And I’ll never get up in the morning.

Oh my lovely Leo, he wears a blue shirt,

He was destined for greatness the day of his birth,

if you ask him nicely he’ll tell you what you’re worth,

Just a kick up the arse in the morning

When he heard what I said oh his face it went red

He says, you’re a lowlife, get out of the bed

You’re no banker, no landlord, you’re no thoroughbred

You disgrace of a man in the morning

And it was finally then that I thought I’d oblige,

I sprang out of bed and took hold of his tie,

And I dragged him to the door and I flung him outside,

And went back to me bed in the morning.

Oh my lovely Leo, he wears a blue shirt,

He was destined for greatness the day of his birth,

if you ask him nicely he’ll tell you what you’re worth,

Just a kick up the arse in the morning

  2. Fuck Sinn Fein , they want to make the social welfare system more generous than it already is. But I think they should be given a chance in government just so everyone will see that they won’t do any of the things they say they will

  3. I was Sinn Féin, then when they got more involved with the left, I was Fianna Fáil, then, unfortunately, I went with the National Party, but now, to be honest, I did research, I really like Renua

  4. I'd like to see in the Republic, the Labour Party and Social Democrats merge and form a southern SDLP, condense the centre left in the Republic of Ireland to one party, which if would have been done by 2020 would have made them the 3rd party beating the Greens and they'd even possibly have been in government right now. Going forward it can still be done.

  5. All POWER hungry individuals, that will say or tell you what ever you think you want to here.
In the words of mr Paisley,
    "NEVER" "NEVER" "NEVER"
UNTIL he seen the POWER starting to slip away.
Then him and Martin became best budds.
POWER is a very powerful drug

  6. Hey this is a great video I’ve been looking for a channel focusing on Irish politics for a long time, subscribed. Think about making some playlists to organise your content for newcomers!

  7. People Before Profit is the most interesting party to me! They claim to be socialist, but are also are claimed to be Trotskyist? What are they? Socialist or Trostkyist, which would be communist. Socialism and communism have very different goals. Or is the party factionated between those two groups?

  8. Well this aged well 😂 i understand your hatred for Fine Gael and I also am no fan of them but economically they have stabilised a train wrecked country and almost doubled our financial exports. The hard choices that had to be made were made and we were finally getting places before covid hit. People before profit and all far left governments promise so much for us but in reality if they implemented some of their ideas it would again start a massive recession. People forget we were still in €200bn debt before covid hit

  9. The perspective of the Republic of Ireland on the EU is very different to the one in the UK, including the 6 counties in Northern Ireland. Here it is some rhetoric about immigrants taking jobs and being on welfare at the same time, which makes it hard to be on the left and campaign to be out of the EU when you're against the issues being posed on the right. But when you look at the way Ireland has been treated, and how much they're paying back after the financial crash and how undemocratic the EU is, it does make it harder to generate an opinion, at least for me. I mean I'm usually centre-left and pro not having a furry deathball of a planet but I've also grown up around conservatives so I always try to find a consensus. In an essence, politics is hard and I hope that both the UK and Ireland can chnage for the better in the coming years.

  10. May we politely suggest the following de-escalation-for-remedy?
    Them-`Vote for me`
You-`YES, CERTAINLY (this removes the controversy). it`s just that we charge you €7,777 in-the-private to do that for you and because we have NO CONFIDENCE with you administrating OUR trust, payment must be with us immediately, and any further communicating with us, is with you ACCEPTING the terms and conditions`
(This way, you are NOT refusing to obey/comply with their orders/requests/policy)
Be the BUSINESS-man with your trustees….NOT the victim.

  11. It's crazy how the republic of ireland was fought for by socialists, anarchists and revolutionaries but has been ruled for 100 years by capitalists, landords, and crooks

I think that tds should be paid the average annual wage and not a penny more

  12. Hey man, you can definitely feel the bias, as you've mentioned, but otherwise this video sums up quite well what you need to know about the recent parties in Ireland and what they stand for. Quite understandable. Thanks.

  13. Look at the parasites running the country now no one to blame only ourselves we voted those vermin in and have the power to vote them out don't sit at home and moan about the worlds most corrupt government do something about it before our country falls into the same mess as Greece and other European countries I believe we should follow the UK and leave Brexit and save our country before there nothing left to save only we can fix this mess

  14. Well to be fair the reason we're paying 42% of the banking debt is because we took more loans than any other country in the Union. (Atleast I'm fairly certain they took the most)

  15. After years of asking the Irish electorate to back them , sinn fein showed far less faith in the Irish people by allowing the election to pass them by without so much as a whimper.. Mary Lou should hang her head in shame for such a grievous miscalculated representation of her party, she's becoming too comfortable and complacent in her surroundings..

  16. 17 years of adding fivers and tenners does not equal less money than you were getting 17 years ago…

And cigarettes cost 16 cents to produce a full pouch… You charge nearly 20 euro that's more than a thousand per cent markup in value…

The only other product in the world you can do that with is diamonds and we all know diamonds are actually worthless…

  17. Wow Fine Gael reminds me so much about the Democratic Party here in the USA. I can’t even imagine a party like Sinn Fein existing here by the way things have gone.

  18. I would love to hear how you're going to run the country with this socialistic bollocks man. If you think that's a fair system, you're as deluded as the liberals you shit on constantly. As for finding out the hard way that Socialism doesn't work, you can go somewhere else to understand that one instead of trying your nonsense bollocks here. We're screwed already, we don't need this on top of it. Speak away as you please, just don't bitch and moan when it's 20 years down the line and you still haven't accomplished anything notable.

  19. Made it sound like nearly 4000 children were sleeping on the street at the start – great video and cause but please don't sensationalise things doesn't help – open for correction if I'm wrong

  20. A dose of nationalism would help out a lot. Maybe even leave the EU when England does. After that you could get everything rolling fine. Careful management would be key and it won't be easy but I see a bright future for Ireland.

  21. May I ask what is the significant difference between the Workers Party and the CPI? Considering both of them are Marxist-Leninist organisations why do they just not merge and form a united communist front?

  22. RTE,s Prime time leaders debate, How could Miriam o Callaghan be an impartial interviewer and her brother Jim o Callaghan Fianna Fail ,running in the election. This country is so corrupt nobody even sees the obvious things anymore and her brother was on RTE the next night slating another Sinn fein rep with the same questions she put to Mary lou mc Donnald, RTE are firmly in Fianna Fail and Fianna Geals pockets..set up or what

  23. Question: Should I fill out my ballot entirely, just to ensure Renua is down last? Or is it better to just put down the ones I know I want in order.
