NEW today are 5 large family Crock Pot meals! These quick and easy recipes to feed a crowd cook up great any time of year. There are beef and potatoes crock …
Wow never thought of using corn starch to thicken my pot roast gravy…have always used the Pioneer Roasted beef gravy mix (1 packet) and do as you did with your corn starch…I have always made my pot roast in the crock pot and IF we have left overs I might add in some potatoes~ peas and bake some sweet cornbread for beef stew the next day
You’re food tutorials have helped me TREMENDOUSLY! We’re currently a family of 6 soon to be 7 in March and this mama needs big man meals. I have 3 boys another otw and of course hubby so we need hungry man meals lol and you’re videos have helped me achieve that! Plus I’m homeschooling now so thank you for your channel!!! My hats off to you mama. You have way more kids than me with energy & a personality I dream of. Love coming to watch your videos. Btw I’m curious to know what type of vehicle you guys have that fits the whole family. 🤔🤗💕
My homemade sweet and sour sauce…. Sauté 1/4 medium onion and 1/4 cup finely diced green pepper in 2-3 T. Olive oil until clear. Add about 1 1/2 cups ketchup, 2 teaspoons mustard, 1/4 cup water, salt, pepper, and about 1/2 cup brown sugar. Bring to a simmer and taste. If too sweet, add a bit more ketchup, if too tangy add more brown sugar. I don't use a recipe, but I have done this for years and it is GOOD!
I so love watching these videos…. because though I would eat them right up…. my husband, nor my now grown sons when home, will NOT eat any meals with foods "mixed together"! LOL
They are not soup/stew fans because it requires foods to be mixed. They are not goulash fans, or spaghetti corn fans for the same reasons. I love all of that stuff, so today now that my husband and I are empty nesters, I cook these foods for me, and just make sure that I leave some of the ground beef I cook up, to be made into taco meat, or some of the sliced roast beef to be made into Philly sandwiches for my husband. Otherwise, he just prefers to pop a Schwan's pizza into the oven, or eat a hamburger on the grill. (I grill up several and keep them in au'jus in the fridge… keeps them fresh and tasty until he heats them up.
They would eat the meat and all these ingredients above, IF they were cooked separate and put on their plates, and two of my sons would eat the potatoes first, clean off their plate, and eat the meat after…. like, one item at a time on their plate. They are 36,32,25 now! I pity their wives. Sigh!!
I love watching you and your family work together. You are so real with noise and children. I have been babysitting for twenty-six years, seven children at all times. I am still, at fifty-nine, helping raise children, and these recipes will free up a lot of time for me. Thank you for sharing your life and making the rest of us feel normal. haha
Shame the part of the rice crust at the bottom didn’t all stay together would have been a great edible bowl to put stroganoff or sweet and sour into it for serving…. not sure it that makes sense or not 🙄 love your videos keep on cooking been missing your cooking ones.
I have a great one for you my mom called it pepper steak ….. all you need is 2 family size packs of stew meat 5 or 6 green bell peppers sliced and 5 or 6 fresh tomatoes sliced into wedges and 2 medium onions and 1 bottle of ketchup cook on low 6 to 7 hours or 4 to 5 on high server over rice or mashed potatoes.
I like to add 2 or 3 chopped apples to applesauce, put in bottom of casserole, lay pork chops on sauce then top it with stove top dressing, cook at 350 for 30 minutes depending on thickness of pork …..really good !
You can serve that crispy rice. It’s considered to be the best part in most of Asia and saved for last. They even cook rice in stoneware so that they have nice crispy rice on purpose.
Could you use cream instead of sour cream I don’t like sour cream? I love your recipes I don’t have a lot in my household but I have 8 grandkids and love to cook for them. Take care and god bless you all xx
I just started watching you tonight while I couldn't sleep, and you are the first person showing recipes that makes me laugh out loud! I'm smiling the whole time, thank you!
It's funny how in the uk we name food so different. This is a stee in the uk. A pot roast is it all cooked without a gravy the gravy made seperate & the potatoes peeled & cooked separate. That looked lush though the thing missing is dumplings but that's if u were cooking a stew. Xxx
Mix corn starch with cold water, it becomes smooth. Won’t leave lumps in the gravy. I save some of my beef broth about a 1/2 cup in the fridge and take out to mix the cornstarch with.

In Hawaii we sometimes cook rice on the stove and the burnt bottom is the best part!

I know it is extra work, but browning the meat first really makes a big difference in the flavor of the dish!
