1. I am not against cannabis. In fact I think, in (careful) moderation it can be healthy and good for you. I think alcohol is worse, in comparison. I have personally witnessed two people close to me that would smoke daily, multiple times a day, mentally deteriorate fast over the years. One is 27 and the other is around 34. Both diagnosed with schizophrenia and one with schizophrenia and psychosis. I don't think cannabis causes schizophrenia but it does advance it. To my knowledge, they were never on any other drugs. Both were successful individuals. One, graduated top of his class at UCA. The other was in the Air Force and made a great living as an aviation mechanic. Now they both live under the care of their parents, under medication. IDK that it would happen to everyone. I think my friends are examples of people who were pre-dispositioned to these mental illnesses and would use it in excess, but there should be some consideration to this. Thanks to anyone who read this.

  2. Any substance that has control over your life should be stopped as soon as possible, I smoke daily for 6 years, but I only do it at night when I am done with my work and all of my other responsibilities, it's like a treat for me at the end of the night to remind me that first comes priorities and then marijuana.

  3. I know for a FACT that marijuana can cause schizophrenia because it happened to me. Fortunately I convinced myself to immediately stop cold turkey all THC and told myself, if I ever have THC again, I WILL get STUCK that way. I had multiple personality disorder schizophrenia. I had me myself and I talking to myself in my head and it was especially bad with mirrors. an UNCONNECTED. UNCONTROLLABLE voice was talking to me inside me. Fortunately I KNEW what schizophrenia was, and realised time after time of taking marijuana it was getting worse and worse. I remember the first time anything weird (besides paranoia or visual ghost like fractal hallucinations on top of the TV, happened to me), I heard someone yelling out at me, saying my name, when no one was there. So many other weird auditory hallucinations happened after that but I wont get into it. I have a sensitivity to auditory hallucinations even with a certain type of Ecstasy I get visual audio links and the sounds become literal colors and if I close my eyes they become shapes, like one of the old Windows Millennium screen savers. I also can hear "music" in "white noise" on occasion since then, and I am aware it is because my brain is just a little fucked up still. but thankfully I am not schizophrenic and I stopped smoking weed. i smoked from age 23 to 25. my brain wasn't even finished growing. it is best if you don't smoke weed until you're older and be aware of any weird auditory things that happen, could be a sign of worse things to come.

  4. The problem with this video is he’s getting his information from the past when the government would purposely false all documents and make marijuana look bad. Remember big Pharma runs the government and is the government since they make the most money. The new research and research done outside of usa is much different than USA fake research.

Yes some people have issues with paranoia when they smoke or they’re just getting cheap garbage and not good quality stuff. But yes some people just have that issue so they shouldn’t smoke, but for the rest of the people who don’t have paranoia it’s totally fine. It helps with so many other things.

It’s a plant 🌱. Dr. Greger loves plants but yet he still a doctor because he says no to the happy plant. The problem is Dr. Greger has no personal experience with this plant. Yet a lot of us do and find it funny how the medical doctors view the happy plant.

Sorry for any grammar or spelling mistakes I don’t care to fix it.

  5. New to this channel.
Will watch additional videos on pot.
Are there not studies showing cognitive deterioration, particularly in the brains of developmental youth up to 25?
Does not THC bring havoc to the natural dopamine receptors, triggering a disruption of and or shutting down cycles?
If so, can pot increase both psychosis, neurosis or brain disease?

  6. The thing is that there's SO many different cannabinoids, and they should all vary depending on the strain… Should because the popularization of THC has lead to a very homogeneous makeup of cannabinoids in the plant, where THC always dominates and CBD, coming in at second, has scarce amounts (and this being mirrored for their acid forms). Saying "cannabis use has been linked to higher risk of schizophrenia", really doesn't answer the important questions if ALL cannabis is equal in this regard.
But it's still important research to keep in mind.

  7. I'm putting it to the test right now. What time in Michigan they had me wrongly diagnosed they court-ordered me to take modafinil phenobarbital haldol cymbalta docusate, and they knew I was a medical marijuana patient at the time. I have been using cannabis for about six years everyday with some anxiety every once in awhile but nothing I couldn't tolerate until they said it was safe to mix with those medications… I took two hits of cannabis and had a 3-day psychosis now I have PTSD over that. I ended up having to go to court because I refused to continue to take the medication I won my case. The nurse practitioner said if you use cannabis again you're playing with fire, so I went home and used it immediately. I've done so every single day since 2017, not once have I ever had an experience like that again. They tried to blame it on cannabis but it was Cannabis mixed with their medication that was the problem. I went to the hospital to get better not worse.

  8. You say there is a gene that kids can get that increasese the chances of them smoking pot. You then say that these kids have a hugher rate if schiz. You then say it supports cause and effect in dev of schiz…. but from this video, there is clearly no evidence to support that. It could simply be that the same gene makes the kids more susceptible to schiz, and it has nothing to do w pot…. pls can you explain? Many thx.

  9. I was diagnosed with a mental disorder after being hospitalized twice, a year apart. Schizoeffective disorder. Both times I was smoking marijuana prior to psychosis and it may have been a contributing factor. After being released from the hospital I smoked some and immediately felt paranoid and started having delusions to the point I left a movie at theatre early thinking the story was about me in some way. So I quit smoking and symptoms subsided.

However, roughly a year after my last psychosis I went back to smoking weed and didn't experience the negative symptoms. Only when I smoked it close to my psychosis.did it seem to retrigger it. I smoked marijuana for a year with no issues and possibly the shot I get every three months helped.

Based on my experience I would avoid heavy marijuana use, like multiple times per day, month on end. Once a week probably not so bad but anything in excess could be bad for you. I have stopped smoking weed and don't see myself going back.

  10. My brother has schizophrenia despite him not accepting that.
I like him when he smokes because he is chill and maybe we can watch a movie or something.
When he is not smoking i spend my whole evening with him trying to keep him calm about world takeover conspiracies and the demons that are after him, all while listening to how stupid i am for not agreeing and seeing "the truth".

I always have weed now if i am meeting him, for my own sanity.

  11. Yes, Marijuana causes Psychosis in some susceptible people in the population

I don't partake because it removes all Empathy, that I may have, for other humans, and I start to wonder what their

facial expressions look like when I introduce a claw hammer to their brains

Not a normal thought ………….so i don't partake ! So I am one such susceptible person, from a personal vantage point

  12. ADHD is the most dangerous of Mental Disorders, because you look Normal, but are unable to think rationally, see Donald J Trump

Although cognitively damaged, others will allow you to ascend to positions of power and authority over millions

You discount the prospective future outcomes to have Zero value, so you use Nukes on your enemies, and start WW3; your
main concern being whats for Diner
    Among other things !

Schizophrenia is the most damaging Mental disorder on an Individual level, but you have little ability to cause the deaths of

many more people, because nobody lets you get entitled to any power as your seen as "crazy" !

  13. Several things can be true at the same time.
You should be legally allowed to use drugs, but you shouldn't actually use drugs.
Cannabis could contribute to schizophrenia, but schizophrenia rates could be declining as Cannabis use increases, because there are other potentially contributing factors that explain why schizophrenia rates are decreasing.
