The devil's advocate is out of touch. Why did the government have to lie about the risks and dangers for 50+ years if they thought it was justified to do what they did? They used purposely biased studies to outlaw it, and alot of the reason was because the old cronies in government saw the new rebellious generation using it, and realized that was the best way to crack down on protestors and blacks and keep them in jail, since protesting isn't illegal. It is law from a dark corrupt time in our country and needs to be done away with. Also the feds will owe the people reperations. They lied and it cost millions of people years of their lives. When if they left it alone, they would have done no harm.

i'd also like to mention that cannabis under its current federal scheduling is being screened for on federal background checks, effectively infringing on the second amendment protected rights of individuals who choose to use cannabis either recreationally or medically, regardless of how it's viewed from state to state. if the constitution means nothing, gov officials should at least be honest about it… they sure find some sneaky ways to violate that shall not be infringed part of the law.
