  1. I am a retired Ph.D. YES YES YES!!! If you go back to the 60s at UCLA, you will find a study on marijuana smoking done at UCLA. Within six weeks, there was major lung damage from the marijuana from the 60s, much less damaging than todays.
Please keep up the good work. I talked until retirement about the dangers, but the kids have been already indoctrinated that it is so safe, much more than alcohol. Our culture is in big trouble. I watched students going down on marijuana – they would actually tell me they did nothing else. I have been retired since, '07. So, the problem is much worse now with all the 'popular' youtubers, Hollywood, and tv personalities acting like it is normal to take or smoke marijuana.

  3. From the National Academy of Medicine on the health effects of weed:
"In addition to recommending more research on the beneficial and harmful effects of cannabis and cannabinoid use, the committee emphasized several challenges and barriers in conducting such research. For instance, specific regulatory barriers, including the classification of cannabis as a Schedule I substance, impede the advancement of research. Researchers also often find it difficult to gain access to the quantity, quality, and type of cannabis product necessary to address specific research questions. The committee said a diverse network of funders is needed to support cannabis and cannabinoid research."

How can you say we have proof if the research is not substantial? Why would you claim ANYTHING with inconclusive studies?

  4. This comment section tripping over this dude. The things he's saying about the NAM report are (somewhat) true. There is a correlation between underage marijuana use and psychosis/schizophrenia. He also cited a valid study by another reputable organization (I think JAMA but it has been a while since I looked into it) in an interview with the New Yorker that linked marijuana consumption as a juvenile to opioid use disorder. I believe in legalizing recreational cannabis, but too many proponents of legalization refuse to think critically about the harmful side effects of weed. Its not a miracle drug, and just because you enjoy using it or medically benefit from it does not justify dismissing Berensens claims. Think critically, do your own research, dont be a sheep.

  5. Convicted criminals found to have THC in their system? Oh boy! Katie bar the door!
He's trying to say Marijuana was the cause of the violence and mental illness…
    BULLSHIT!!!
Nothing more than coincidence. Many people use Marijuana, more than you think.
