  1. Yeah they made it a controlled substance and banned it because of the threat to the industry. Then it was In 1974 researchers learned that THC, the active chemical in marijuana, shrank or destroyed brain tumors in test mice. But the DEA quickly shut down the study and destroyed its results, which were never replicated until twenty one years later in 2000. Since then research has still be very slow and suppressed by the US government and the international drug convention treaty. https://www.alternet.org/story/9257/pot_shrinks_tumors%3B_government_knew_in_'74

  2. In France it's a slightly different story but the same outcome. In the 1860s, Napoleon 3 wanted to keep the power but there was this political opponent threatening that. This guy had a taste for marijuana, so Napoleon ordered the thing outlawed and by the next morning at 6am stormed into the opponent's home and threw him to jail. Cannabis has been demonized and outlawed ever since. Consider this at a time when absynth was legal, shamanic stuff etc. Meanwhile alcohol is the biggest cause of mortality in earth, 2.5M per year iirc?
    How nonsensical.

  3. Great to hear Rick Simpson is still going. He was forced into exile for all his good works years ago in Nova Scotia. if you haven't seen his story "Run from the Cure", watch it. It's a good story about a good guy trying to help people, and the authorities who "fight the war on drugs" at not only Rick's expense, but of all those he was helping.
