Trevor Noah's comic timing and his observational comedy reminds me a lot of the late Irish stand-up comedian Dave Allen. Dave Allen's early shows was mostly about religion and drunken people and contained several sketches. But the shows he did in the 1990s ("Dave Allen: On Life," for instance), was, to a greater extent, a satirical commentary on modern society – much like Trevor Noah's shows. Of course there are differences between these two comedians, but there are definitely also similarities. I used to have just ONE favorite stand-up comedian (Dave Allen). Now I have TWO: Dave Allen and Trevor Noah.
